Default Installing Energy Efficient Windows

Great site and great links - most interested in the advantage of tax credits for installing energy efficient windows. I would encourage my son who has a house build in the mid 60's to seriously consider installing energy efficient windows that would take advantage of the tax credits that would be forthcoming to him.

Smile Energy efficient upgrades

What simple changes can I make in my house (without spending a ton) to save money on energy? I am not sure where to start. Any advice?
This is a great site.

Default Energy Efficiency

Please refer to my recent post under General Questions and Comments.

There is a mistaken impression about the value of replacing windows only now beginning to be recgnized. It is one of those assumptions we have inherited which may not in fact be true.

The problem is the glass itself. Energy losses take place through windows in four ways. Conduction, convection, radiation and infiltration. If any one of these areas is not addressed the losses will continue.

Please let me know if I can answer any further questions for you!
